We are delighted that SOFLEX has been recognised as a "Winner ’ by the Industry 4.0 Baden-Württemberg Alliance for our innovative solution, the Dynamic Storage Tower (DST).
The Dynamic Storage Tower (DST) serves as an optimal decoupling element between manual activities (clamping, unclamping and testing of workpieces) and automated work processes on processing or measuring machines.
In one of our projects, the DST coordinates the automated clamping of workpieces on hydraulic clamping towers and also serves as flexible storage for 3 processing machines. Thanks to its compact design, the DST requires minimal space and can store up to ~11,500 raw and finished parts in this project. This capacity increases the efficiency and productivity of the system and reduces production costs.
The process is controlled via the SOFLEX control system, which plans the order processing, controls the workpiece throughput and optimises the provision of operating resources such as tools, NC data and fixtures.
In addition, the automated data exchange between the SOFLEX control system and the organisational and technical systems (ERP, CAD/CAM and PDM systems) enables a fast flow of information.
The project constellation with the automated set-up tower represents a unique solution and guarantees 24/7 production operation.
This award shows that SOFLEX continues to successfully develop innovative solutions in the field of digitalisation and automation that are helping to shape the production of the future.
